Some people ask us “Why is YouTube so important?” Well for one thing, it’s the second largest search engine in the world and it’s owned by Google. Need I say more?  79% of internet users have a YouTube account. Around 60% of businesses use YouTube for their marketing.  YouTube is where your audience is…so you have to make sure you’re there, too. And there are lots of things you can do to make it easier for your videos to be found and come up in search results.

Make sure your video has a strong title and description. A lot of people skip writing a description; don’t be one of those people! A description helps viewers find your content and influences their decision on whether to watch your video or not. Done right, YouTube descriptions can boost SEO, subscriptions, view counts, and watch time. They can also help your videos rank in YouTube’s “suggested search” function.

What else helps your videos get found? Keywords and tags.  Adding these will increase visibility. It doesn’t have to be overly complicated; just take a step back and think about what your video is about, and type that in the keyword section. Is your video about what to do if you get a DUI? Then type words or phrases like DUI, Lawyer, and DWI.  Imagine your ideal client sitting down at their computer, typing into the search bar; what are they typing? What are they looking for? THOSE are the words and phrases you want to use when it comes to describing and tagging your video.
